The Waterwalk

Nearly ten acres of shoreline will become a dynamic boardwalk, known as the Point Ruston Waterwalk. Connecting to Ruston Way’s already active promenade and Restaurant Row, the Waterwalk is destined to become a hot spot for recreation, respite, and relaxation.

The Waterwalk will also link to neighboring 702-acre Point Defiance Park, famous for its lush and varied gardens, miles of running and hiking trails, tennis courts, playgrounds, Owen Beach, and the only combined zoo & aquarium in the Northwest.

Enjoy an early morning jog, dive into your favorite book, or take a sunset stroll along the Waterwalk’s natural, rugged shoreline. Averaging 100 feet in width and hugging a mile long stretch of Puget Sound, featuring whale-tale benches and public art throughout, the Waterwalk is a great place to relax and recharge.
