This coming Sunday, MetroParks Tacoma invites you to bike, walk, run, or roll from Point Defiance Park to Downtown Tacoma and back!
Downtown to Defiance is a free open street event for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy our waterfront trail system that spans almost 7 miles.
The Point Ruston crew will be at the Grand Plaza with a water station and some cool prizes to win!
The best part about this race is that it isn’t a race at all — you can join the fun at any point along the route!
Tacoma’s waterfront is one of the longest public promenades in the country and Downtown to Defiance is designed to allow folks who love the Tacoma waterfront to experience the nearly 7 miles without being encumbered by vehicular traffic.
The event begins at Pt. Defiance Park at 7 am. Don’t worry about eating breakfast before the event because many of the food trucks from Tacoma’s Food Truck Fest in Wright Park will be at Pt. D to feed the masses!
If you thought that was all, you’re wrong! From 8 am to 12 pm there will be live entertainment in the Pt. Defiance bowl.
