The Blue Octopus | Coming Soon to Point Ruston

The Blue Octopus Champagne Bar and Art Gallery is currently in the process of moving from it’s most recent Pearl St. location to Point Ruston. The Blue Octopus is a wonderful place where the owner and operator Kerry Cole has been offering an Art experience to people that is refreshing and therapeutic. She hopes to complete the move and open for business in February, and we can’t wait!

At The Blue Octopus quality alcoholic beverages fuse with painting classes; an interesting intersection of abandoning your worries and expressing your creativity. Something we could all probably use from time to time. Art classes at Blue Octopus are $35 and included with the cost is your first glass of wine or beer, a 12×12 or 16×20 canvas, paint brushes, a 3 hour interactive painting class and all the acrylic paint you could ever need. Kerry says she encounters people coming to her classes that “Can barely draw a stick figure” and they usually end up with a completed painting before they leave that far exceeds their own self-expectations.

The Blue Octopus plans to host wine tasting and live music every Friday in addition to offering free wine delivery for residents of Point Ruston. Art classes at Blue Octopus are $35 and included with the cost is your first glass of wine or beer, a 12×12 or 16×20 canvas, paint brushes to use, a 3 hour interactive painting class and all the acrylic paint you could ever need (during the class). As for the spirits and brews to be offered at Blue Octopus Kerry will be seeking more European and Non-local Wine, Beer, and Mead to expand the palette. The Blue Octopus also serves as an art gallery and will continue to do so at it’s new location at Point Ruston where Kerry Cole will feature some of her own art work as well as developing a rotation of foreign and local artists to display and sell. Point Ruston and the waterfront community will certainly be enjoying the presence of such a unique experience offering an interactive 21+ art extravaganza. For those who may wish to forgo the art classes and jump right into the Champagne, there will be a bar just like at the old location.

Both the Bar and the Art Gallery/Studio will be open:

10 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays; 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays
