Farmers Market at Point Ruston 2017

TACOMA, WA – A new farmers market is coming to Tacoma. In partnership with Point Ruston, the Tacoma Farmers Market is set to start a new market at Point Ruston’s Grand Plaza.

Beginning on August 6, Point Ruston Farmers Market will run every Sunday through September 24. Market hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This new farmers market at Point Ruston will host approximately 25-30 vendors – with most being farmers, select artists and local food processors, along with a number of vendors representing Point Ruston current brick-and-mortar tenants (final vendor list to be released soon).

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Point Ruston to increase access to fresh, local food and provide another thriving market venue for our local farms and small businesses to sell their products,” said Stacy Carkonen, Executive Director of the Tacoma Farmers Market.

The North Pearl Farmers Market, located up the hill from Point Ruston on Pearl Street, will merge with the new Point Ruston Farmers Market for the month of August, bringing several vendors to the new Point Ruston location, as well as Kid’s Club activities focused on increasing child literacy, and Food for Thought author readings at the market. Loren Cohen, Point Ruston’s Managing Director, added, “We are proud to partner with the Tacoma Farmers Market and establish the new Point Ruston Farmers Market. A waterfront farmers market has been part of our plans since this development’s inception, and we are happy to have connected with the North Pearl Market and Tacoma Farmers Marker to bring this idea to life.”
